Guest of honour: Slovakia
The 2010 Guest of Honour of the Illustrators Exhibition will be Slovakia. The occasion strengthens an historic friendship between Bratislava and Bologna that welcomes every two years the winner of the prestigious Grand Prix of the Biennial of Illustration BIB.

A rich artistic and cultural programme of initiatives at the fair and in the town of Bologna will propose a trip inside a country of the other Europe. The intention is to represent the strength and the vitality of traditions and culture of a population that will not fail to surprise us.

Tickets online: the pre-registration for visitors wishing to buy in advance their tickets for the Fair is available on the website
Our pre-registration system allows you to get tickets online and print them at your own place!
Buying the tickets online will allow you to skip queues in the morning at the ticket offices. The ticket will be delivered via e-mail to be printed immediately. Tickets printed on a simple paper sheet will include a unique code bar to be read at the entrance.
And remember, you will get 25% discount if you buy it before March 12th! Hurry up to visit your favourite book fair at the best price!


2010 International seminar Quick Rights
The Seminar, jointly organized by the Bologna Children's Book Fair and the Frankfurt Book Fair, will be focusing on selling translations rights as licences and co-editions. It has been scheduled on Monday March 22nd, at Room Concerto (Services Centre).

In the course of a day, the aim of the Quick Rights International Seminar is to improve and expand upon participant's knowledge of the different ways and means in which rights are traded - whether buying or selling - and to provide a forum in which particular and general issues can be addressed, discussed and answered. The seminar will cover key contractual points, royalty calculations, co-edition pricing, terms of trade, scheduling, and the lifecycle of a typical rights sale.
The seminar, held in English, will be lead by Ed Glover and by the guest speaker Susanne Koppe.

The results of the 2010 Illustrators Exhibition are finally published!
An international Jury met in Bologna from January 18th to 20th. This year the members of the Jury are: Gaia Stock, Bélen G. Freijero, Martin Salisbury, Vladimir Radunsky and Yukiko M. Hiromtsu. Discover more about them reading their brief biographies.

Last call for the BolognaRagazzi Award: deadline for application is approaching
We are glad to inform you that the deadline in order to take part in the BolognaRagazzi Award has been extended to February 8th 2010.

Exclusively reserved for exhibitors at the Bologna Children's Book Fair, the BolognaRagazzi Award is intended to draw attention to the most innovative books published throughout the world in the last years, they will be selected by an international jury.
We invite you if you have not yet did it to send the application form completed in full with the books that you wish submit.
