Pro-Action representatives were invited to a meeting with Pearson Educational by Rod Bristow, UK President, following Pro-Action’s letters to the publishers challenging their illustrator copyright assignment agreements. Brenda Gvozdanovic, Contracts Director, with whom we have been communicating, also attended.
What Pro-Action hoped to achieve from the meeting was that Pearson would make a commitment to either paying sufficient remuneration for the rights requested for commissions, or limit the rights. Also, to not require that the right of integrity is waived for all commissions.
