Engelske Steven Appleby kan så mye! Han jobber innen mange kunstneriske felt fra illustrasjon, forfatter, animasjon, billedkunstner og tegneserieskaper. Appleby har jobbet i en årrekke med fast “stripe” med skeive sideblikk på livet i den engelske avisen The Guardian. Han jobber med pennesplitt og akvarell og hovedfokus er strek og ord. "During my talk I will show a cross-section of my work (including newspaper cartoon strips, paintings, books, radio, animation and live theatre) and discuss the obsessions and themes running through it.
Sometimes people call my work surreal or bizarre, but the truth is that it is always rooted in personal experience and the things I see around me. It is intended to entertain, but also hopefully to reveal something about the world and the way we live. I want to explore what life is all about."
